What Is DRS Protocol™?

One of the solutions we offer to back pain is Decompression, Reduction, and Stabilization, also known as DRS Protocol™. DRS Protocol™ is a treatment for back and neck pain. It uses spinal decompression with additional therapies in a customized treatment plan for your needs. It’s important to know that this treatment is very safe, noninvasive, and drug-free. Yet, it can help with conditions such as sciatica, degenerative disc disease, as well as disc herniation and much more. When you visit us, we’ll discuss exactly what you can expect from this treatment plan based on your needs.

Briefly, we apply an axial force to the area of injury, usually a disc within your spinal column. We rehydrate the disc when the pressure within the spinal column disc is reduced. By doing this, we encourage improved flow of water, oxygen, and nutrients into the area, improving the underlying cause of your pain.

What Is Nonsurgical Spinal Decompression and How Does It Help?

The goal of any type of spinal decompression is to reduce the amount of pressure being placed on the body’s nerve network within the spinal column. We do this using spinal decompression machines. It works to encourage the flow of nutrients into the discs but reduces the overall pressure present. Because it is nonsurgical, you do not have to undergo painful or high-risk surgeries. You do not have to be at risk of infections or spend time in the hospital.

Most importantly, with nonsurgical spinal decompression, patients feel better. You will feel less pain when you move or sit still. And, it can help many men and women, even those with chronic conditions.

How Do Spinal Decompression Chiropractors Perform This Treatment?

We use spinal decompression machines. You will lay on the machine, which is a computer-controlled table. We’ll operate the machine at a computer nearby. Within about 45 minutes, the treatment will involve slight movements of the machine to create the treatment desired. The spine is stretched and relaxed in a very slow and pain-free way. This works to reduce the amount of pressure present, creating negative pressure within the disc.
